About San Geronimo;
The band San Geronimo hails from the rolling hills of west Marin, California. Described by the San Francisco Guardian as "Hard Charging Americana," San Geronimo write powerful, thought provoking songs that intertwine Classic Rock, Country and Psychedelic elements to form a unique brand of what critics are calling California Soul music.
Rolling down a dusty west Marin back-road with the ocean breeze in their face. San Geronimo push the boundaries of their musical reach to perpetual heights as they soar above the Redwoods. Echoing pedal steel, ripping guitar, a rumbling rhythm section and a pair of sharp tonged troubadours splitting the “front man” duties find San Geronimo tapping into the deep musical roots of the northern California hills to bring you a sound that you’ll find fresh and new yet oh so familiar.
Described by the San Francisco Bay Guardian as “Hard charging Americana” the dually fronted outfits second to none songwriting draws from the inkwells of both Jeremy D’Antonio and Darren Nelson, giving the band a level of diversity rarely matched in today’s music scene. Add the wizardry of Dave Zirbel’s charging pedal steel and lead guitar lines that twist and turn seamlessly through the bordering on chaotic rhythms provided by drummer Dan Luehring who’s only tether to earth may be the pounding but melodic bass lines.
The band’s 2 1/2 year residency at Terrapin Crossroads has afforded them the perfect venue to hone in their ever-present chemistry and deep sense of camaraderie. The results are undeniable and infectious. Having recently shared the stage with the likes of Colonel Bruce Hampton, Trigger Hippie, Billy Kreutzmann, Wynona Judd, Robert Earl Keen and Phil Lesh, the band is firing on all cylinders as they careen down that dusty road with the speakers blaring!
